Srinagar  

The capital of J&K, Srinagar, is one of the most beautiful places in Kashmir. Take a Shikara ride across the serene Dal Lake, see the city from the top of the Shankaracharya Temple and stay on the famous houseboats on your next trip.  

Gulmarg  

Gulmarg is the snowy paradise of Kashmir. This ski paradise is known for being one of the world’s highest and largest cable cars, with a linear distance of about 5km. The view from the top of the mountains at 3,979 meters above sea level is unsettling.

Sonmarg or “the meadow of gold” has one of the most scenic views in Kashmir.  

Snowcapped mountains, green meadows and ponies to ride; this place is called “Jannat” or Heaven. Sonmarg is also one of the starting points to begin the Amarnath Yatra. Rafting, zorbing, and trekking are the various events that take place in the most popular tourist spots. Sonmarg is not accessible in winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanches.  

A Must Do: Thajiwas Glacier Hike  

Pahalgam  

Lidder Lake and Betaab Valley surround Pahalgam. This place is famous for rafting on Lake Lidder, golfing, and shopping for traditional Kashmiri products. Pahalgam is ideal for experiencing clear rivers and deep, thrilling valleys.  

Must see: Visit Mini Switzerland on ponies  

 Kashmir Valley  

The Kashmir Valley, one of the largest valleys in the Himalayas, is an elliptical, saucer-shaped landmark of Kashmir. Surrounded by the Karakoram and Pir Panjal mountain ranges, the Kashmir valley offers mesmerizing views in every direction. It is an almost 140 km long valley which is the perfect place for all hikers and mountaineers!  Kargil  

Kargil, known for the infamous 1999 Kargil War, has become a very peaceful tourist destination with historical significance. As a short break in Leh, several tourists visit Kargil. Tourists from all over the world visit the “Ran Bhoomi” of war. Several monasteries and the Kargil War Memorial are worth visiting. If you get the chance, take a night off at one of the military camps and listen to these amazing war stories from the military themselves.  

A must-do: Hike in the Nun Mountains  

Leh, Ladakh  

Leh is popular with romantics and adventurers alike. This destination is a place of pilgrimage for cyclists, students and adventure riders who dream of a trip to Ladakh at least once in their lives. The icy waters of Pangong Tso Lake, the sight of magnetic hills and the beautiful blue sky behind your eyes will make you lose yourself in the beauty of Leh and Ladakh. Rent a caravan, park beside the shore of Pangong lake and have a nature party with your loved ones by grilling BBQ, setting up camp and having warm meals.
